Michael A. Stout, PhD, HCLD/ELD/CC (ABB)

Dr. Stout is Board Certified as High-complexity Clinical Laboratory Director (HCLD), Embryology Laboratory Director (ELD), Clinical Consultant (CC) and Technical Supervisor (TS) by the American Board of Bioanalysis (ABB).

A native of Louisiana, Dr. Stout earned his BS from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (ULL). Upon graduating from ULL, Dr. Stout enrolled at Louisiana State University (LSU) and earned his MS and PhD specializing in Reproductive Physiology/Biology. While at LSU, he performed and was involved in research at the LSU Reproductive Biology Center, LSU Embryo Biotechnology Center and Genex. During his studies, he was honored and privileged to study under world renowned professors, such as Boyed Professor Dr. Robert A. Godke (Ph.D., Major Professor), Dr. John Chandler (M.S., Major Professor),  Dr. Lora Lana Goodeaux (B.S., Advisor),  Dr. Stanley Leibo, Dr. Kennith Bondioli, and many more.

Upon Graduating from LSU, Dr. Stout joined the staff at Shady Grove Fertility. Shady Grove Fertility provided Dr. Stout with a world class group of  Laboratory Directors, Supervisors, Scientist and Senior Embryologists to work with and learn from their experience. Following his time at SGF, Dr. Stout returned to Louisiana and joined the Fertility Institute of New Orleans.

Dr. Stout has served in many capacities within the laboratory, including: Laboratory Director, Clinical Consultant and Supervisor. He has had the privilege to participate in many projects including laboratory construction, setup of new testing and the ongoing operation of laboratories.  As Laboratory Director, Dr. Stout has successfully helped laboratories through CLIA inspections including the initial application and inspection by the College of American Pathologists (CAP).

Dr. Stout enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 sons, helping others and working with professionals committed to excellence.
